David Howard should have been on pole after winning the first race, but was absent after his V12 destroyed itself chasing Roger Stanford in their pre-93 encounter. This left Neil in top spot, followed by Nigel Garrett and William Jenkins.
Nigel made the most of a clear track in front of him and powered his Dolomite into a lead he was to hold to the flag. behind him Neil was slow away and battling with William and Al Weyman (Camaro) into Copse. The battling quartet was soon down to a trio when Al had the throttle linkage come adrift on the Camaro coming down the back straight on the second lap. Neil and William were running close. The BMW was faster in a straight line but the Capri was better on the brakes. Neil passed William into the complex but it was William who crossed the line first. Into Copse they were side by side, touched and in a moment were both into the kitty litter and out of the race.
All this escalated Chris Nixon into second, ahead of Tony Crudgington and that’s the way it finished. Behind them there was a race long battle between Tony Crates (Lotus Cortina Mk2) and Phil Waller (Avenger) resolved in Tony’s favour by the flag.
